It has been along time since I have updated.  I think I forgot how to!  Help me out, what should I write about?  Help me out!

I think I forgot how to add entrys!  So, summer is not pretty much officially over.  All you cool kids are starting back to school and everyones life is about to get pretty busy.  Even Kyle starts Kindergarden this year.  Does that make me old?

OK so once again Haley is really smart and got the word of the day correct.  That makes me want to send my kids to Cooper because they have taught Haley to use big, useless words in everyday conversation.

Well, if you have not noticed--the Yankees are the hottest team in baseball and are on a 5 game winning streak.  I am glad that they started slow so that you guys would have the opportunity to take cheap shots at my team, but who is laughing now?

Daniel and I sent a copy of Napolean Dynamite home with Jim Brewer.  He has been watching it for the past two days, but has only made it about 15 minutes into the movie.  I think you guys need to give him some encouragement and help him endure the movie.  I think we all agree that it will make him a better man.  How awesome would it be for him to use clips of ND on Sunday mornings.  He would officially be the coolest preacher ever!

If you get a chance give Emily and Linzie Smith a call.  They could use some encouragement after their car wreck.  They are both doing well, but have a long road to complete recovery.

So, last week Kyle and I stocked our pond with about 25 different fish.  After we got hte first 5, week thought they were so cool that we just continued buying them.  We had Gold Fish, Koi (the funky fish at Japaneese steak houses), Plecostumus (poop eaters), etc.  Less than a week later only 3 are still alive.  Does that make me a bad person?  If your parents knew that would they still allow you to go to Mexico or camps with me?  I feel like a failure as a pet owner and am out like $13 bucks now.  Does that make me a bad person???

Last night I had dinner with a guy who is walking from Galveston to Denver.  He is 40 days into his walk and was currently in Lubbock.  He was doing this to raise awareness of the Dry Bones ministry, which is a ministry to homeless teens in Denver.  It is going to take him 101 days to make the journey and he is walking about 20 miles a day.  I was blown away by his passion for the ministry and his desrire for God.  Spend some time on the web and check out www.walkingtodenver.com .  Also do a search and read some of the different articles about Jeff, just search "walking to Denver"--it will blow you away.  I pray that my passion for God and ministry will grow daily and that yours will to!

I love you guys!

Trent

Oh yeah Yogi Berra once said "If you come to a fork in the road, take it!"

Haley is the big winner.  She correctly definde Curmudgeon as a crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man!!!  In fact, rumor has it that she uses it in daily conversation.  She is so smart.

Any ways life is overly exciting her.  We had our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Casa de Roberson last night.  It was wild and crazy with steaks, fajitas, and a case of Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke (for Daniel of course).

New things in Trent's life that you probably need to know about.

  • We recently purchased 5 gold fish and placed them in the Lake Casa de Roberson (pond in our backyard).
  • I had a Greek Gyro sandwich today at some place in the mall.  It wasn't that bad.  I'm not sure what was in it, but I would eat one again.
  • We just made Fung Shei garden in our backyard.  I don't thinks that is how you spell it or really even know what Fung Shei means, but I've got one.

So--don't forget to get your Evergreen Counselor/staff apps in by Sunday.

Word of the day: Simper

Yogi-ism of the day: "I take a two hour nap, from one o'clock to four."

Scripture of the day: 1 Corinthians 6:19

Have a great weekend!

Trent
